Mayor Malannag says SGLG award due to collaborative efforts, hard work of Balbalan officials and employees

Balbalan, Kalinga – The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) was officially conferred to the Municipality of Balbalan on December 9 in Ermita, Manila.  

 

Mayor Almar Malannag, along with Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Lucas Ating, personally received the mother of all awards for LGUs in the country during the awarding ceremony on Monday afternoon at the Manila Hotel.

 

This is the second SGLG ever bestowed to Balbalan, the first one was given to the municipality in 2016.

 

Balbalan finally obtaining its second SGLG after 8 years is a product of the concerted efforts and hard work of the town officials, employees, and the iBalbalans, Mayor Malannag said.

 

“Dayta SGLG, naaramid dayta through the efforts met lang iti amin nga empleyado ken opisyales idiay Balbalan, haan lang nga idiay munisipyo, amin idiay barangay. Effort dayta ken panagmaymaysa tapnu ma-achieve daytoy nga highest nga award iti DILG,” he said.

 

Malannag further shared that the award made him realize even more the important role of collaborative work and cooperation.  

 

“Isu iti kitkitak nga kaya gayam, uray nu first time ko as local chief executive idiay Balbalan kunak nga kaya tayo daytoy ta adda kayo nga tumulong kanyak,” he expressed.

 

Balbalan is one of the 577 municipalities received the 2024 SGLG award from the DILG.
