MHO Lubuagan encourages CoViD-19 possible contacts to cooperate to stop virus transmission

Updated: Feb 10, 2021

Lubuagan, Kalinga ― The Lubuagan Municipal Health Office (MHO) appealed to their constituents to voluntarily submit themselves for contact tracing in order to stop the surge of local transmission of the virus in the municipality.

This has been emphasized by Municipal Health Officer (MHO) Dr. Caroline Agyao in a recent interview saying one of their struggles during contact tracing involves some contacts of CoViD-19 patients who refuse to cooperate.

“Diyay lang ti pakaasi mi kadagidiay contacts dagidiay positive patients… nu mabalbalin kuma ket isubmit da ti sarili da. Maasyan da kuma ngay lalo nu didiay ayan da nga balay ket adda babbaket, lallakay, uubbing kakasdiay,” she said.

“Haan da ngay gamin ireveal dagiti contacts da, isu ti problema mi tatta. Isu ti nakaalisan na diay maysa staff mi isu nga naka-quarantine kami. Aglimmeng da and then nu agrandom kami idiay nga area, idiay mi lang mafind outan nga adda nagpositive manen,” she added.

On the other hand, Agyao said the imposition of Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) in Lubuagan is an advantage since it limits the movement of residents and prohibits them from going in and out of the municipality for non-essential travels. In addition, the extension of the MECQ shall provide them ample time to trace all possible contacts.

As of 7 February 2021, there is a total number of fifty-nine (59) cases in the municipality since 20 November 2020, with a total number of thirty-six (36) active cases and twenty-three (23) recoveries.

Meantime, Mayor Charisma Anne Dickpus urged the public to instill discipline within themselves and to continuously cooperate in the observance of health protocols as a way to combat the spread of CoViD-19.
