Miss Baguio 2024 to compete in Miss Universe PH

Baguio City, Philippines – Baguio City is ready to compete to get the much-coveted crown in the Philippines this year with Gwendoline Meliz Soriano, the crowned Miss Baguio 2024, as the city’s representative to the Miss Universe Philippines 2025.

 

Since 2022, Baguio beauties have been finishing strong in the competition. From Ghenesis Dalayday Latugat who managed to enter the top 10 in 2022; to Krishna Marie Gravidez, top 5 in 2023; and to Justine Tarah Marie Valencia who finished 3rd- runner up in the competition last year.

 

For 2025, Baguio City through Gwendoline is determined to follow the steps of former Baguio queens who have brought honor to the city. Gwendoline was sashed as the official bet of Baguio City in the Miss Universe PH during the City LGU’s flag raising ceremony last February 3, 2025.

 

Who is Gwendoline?

 

Gwendoline, according to the Miss Baguio Facebook page, is a commercial model who has appeared in more than twenty advertisements over the past years.

 

During her childhood days, she was a cultural dancer and later joined the official dance troupe of Saint Louis University. In 2019, she began her studies for mass communication degree at SLU, but she finished it at the Trinity University of Asia as she had to move to Manila for work.

 

In 2024, she came back to Baguio City to join the Search for Miss Baguio where she ended the contest with the crown and title.

 

When asked by the media about her preparations, the 26-year-old beauty queen said she is prioritizing her physical and mental well-being for now.

 

As for her advocacy, she shared she wants to promote and strengthen Baguio’s culture and arts, as well as to empower the youth.

 

‘He called, I answered’

 

In her Facebook post, Gwendoline expressed her gratitude to the Almighty and to all the people who keep on supporting her in her beauty pageant journeys, particularly now that she was given the chance to represent Baguio in the esteemed national pageant.

 

“God did it again. He called. I answered. And here I am, all set and ready to serve the home that has embraced me, honed me, and nurtured me into the strong, creative, passionate, and purposeful woman that I am today… my beloved Baguio City,” she wrote.
