Pasil, Kalinga – Crowned Miss Bakasyunista 2022 of Kalinga Colleges of Science and Technology Inc. – Desiree Dalog Basiwal feels proud to represent Pasil town in this year’s province-wide beauty tilt.

The 23-year-old beauty is among the 16 official contenders who will vie for Miss Kalinga 2023 crown during the coronation night that will unfold at the Kalinga Sports Center on February 14, 2023, as part of the 28th Kalinga Founding Anniversary.

Basiwal advocates for education reform, believing in its power as a gate pass to success.

In point of fact, she is a member of the 4-H Club, an organization of youth involved in education programs and income-generating projects for the four-fold development of the Head, Heart, Hands, and Health.

Inspired by her parents who treat her as their princess, Basiwal was motivated to try her luck in local beauty contests while studying at said college. She joined pageants in her village and at their school search where she was known as a “hakot awardee” candidate.

Aside from her title as Miss Bakasyunista 2022, she also won People’s Choice Award, Best in Formal Attire, and Best in Background View.

Ahead of the crowning of yet another new Miss Kalinga winner, the aspiring beauty prepares for the big night, while prioritizing her studies as a junior secondary education student.

Cheering for the charmer is the municipal officialdom of Pasil headed by Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig” Malannag Jr. as her main sponsor, along with the whole community.
