Miss Kalinga 2023 competes for Ms. Cordillera Autonomy Youth Ambassador

Tabuk City, Kalinga – After taking home the Miss Kalinga crown last February, Angelina Dupaya punched her ticket to a higher-level pageant, the Ms. Cordillera Autonomy Youth Ambassador, which will be held next month in Luna, Apayao.

She will be joined by Godwin Bomosao as her male counterpart in the pageant.

As she tries to snatch the crown, the beauty queen will be bringing her previous advocacies—youth leadership, arts and culture preservation, and environmental sustainability—to the regional pageant.

“I would like to stand on my purpose as Miss Kalinga, to continue my advocacy of youth leadership, arts and culture preservation, and environmental sustainability towards successful regional autonomy,” she says.

“This is to help my fellow cordilleran youth spread awareness and be the voice to support our region’s campaign for autonomy.”

Carrying the Miss Kalinga sash and with the all-out support of yKalingas, the Architecture student pledged she will give her best to the competition while expressing her gratefulness saying ‘the overflowing support she is receiving will serve as fuel to her heart and soul’ as she embarks in her journey to the Miss Youth Ambassador crown.

“Please continue to support us as. We will do our best, and please pray for us po,” she added.

As recalled, the 21-year-old beauty shone more brightly than 14 other beauties during the Miss Kalinga 2023 pageant, thus winning the most coveted crown and bagging four minor awards.

On her win as Kalinga’s most beautiful and most empowered woman, she was given the chance to have a free trip to Phuket Thailand, gift packs, a certificate, and a cash prize.

The Mister and Miss Cordillera Autonomy Youth Ambassador pageant

Launched in the region last year, the Mr. and Ms. Cordillera Autonomy Youth Ambassador pageant aims to raise awareness of Cordilleran autonomy among young people.

As such, it will be looking for young Cordillerans who fit the profile of a good ambassador in order to support the cause of Cordilleran Autonomy.

Shawn Michael Barila of Kalinga and Angela Mae Respicio of Abra were the winners of the pageant’s edition last year.
