Miss Kalinga 2023 to pursue conservation, promotion of arts, culture, environmental sustainability

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Crowned Miss Kalinga 2023 Angelina Dupaya who represented Rizal during the recently-concluded battle of the brains and beauty during the 4th Bodong Festival will work on the conservation and promotion of arts, culture, and environmental sustainability during her reign.


The 20-year-old beauty from San Pascual, Rizal outshined 14 other candidates during the pageant with her strong stage presence and having nailed the question and answer portion.

In an interview, Dupaya said that having accepted the responsibility engraved behind the Miss Kalinga crown, she is now in pursuit of tracking her core purpose in joining the pageant which is the conservation and promotion of arts, culture, and environmental sustainability through youth leadership.


“When I was still a candidate, I had lots of plans to pursue if I win or even lose… my advocacy po is ‘youth leadership in conserving and promoting arts, culture, and environmental sustainability’. It’s all about youth leadership, about joining social actions and implementing social activities that may help nurture the younger generations,” she stated.


In terms of arts, the beauty queen said she wants to promote visual arts, as she considers herself an artist having crafted artworks depicting and promoting yKalinga women and Kalinga culture.


“I know a lot of amazing young artists and a dreamer like me to promote this kind of art in our province; murals, art exhibits, and also teaching or sharing knowledge about visual arts,” she conveyed.


Dupaya, as an environmentalist, is part of Rizal Youth for Social Action Association which carried out various outreach programs and tree planting activities in the different barangays of Rizal town and wishes to continue this during her reign as Miss Kalinga 2023, but this time, in other municipalities of the province.

In her reign as Miss Tabuk City - Agriculture 2018, she shared that it was then that she started involving herself in cultural, ethical, and various environmental movements.


Asked about the programs of previous beauty queens that she wants to continue, Dupaya said she will carry on the legacy the past reigning queens established by promoting the goodwill and importance of education in people’s daily lives.


“For now, I just have to balance my priorities being a student and a Queen. I hope that my supporters, mentors, and young generations will keep guiding and supporting my vision. My plans may not be perfect but I’ll do my best to fulfill my duty,” she concluded.
