More MSMEs in Kalinga benefit from DTI shared service facilities

Tabuk City, Kalinga – More micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the province are benefitting from the P41.6 million worth of shared service facility (SSF) established, disclosed the Provincial Director of Department of Trade and Industry – Kalinga Renie Ramos.

During the launching of the P4.8 million SSF in the Food and Analytical Laboratory at the Central Science Laboratory of Kalinga State University on Friday, September 30, Ramos informed there are 38 SSF in Kalinga so far.


There are 18 facilities in Tabuk for being the center of trade and commerce in the province; 5 in Tanudan; 3 each in Rizal, Balbalan, Pinukpuk and Tinglayan; 2 in Pasil; and 1 in Lubuagan.

These facilities, he added, are owned by 32 local cooperators that provide MSMEs access to better technologies and more sophisticated equipment which increase their productivity and accelerate their competitiveness and marketability.


Some recipients shared that the machinery is of big help in processing their products such as coffee, and cacao, among others.


The SSF is a public-private partnership initiative being implemented through cooperators who can house the machinery and equipment and make these accessible to MSMEs.
