More police deployed in Tabuk to control traffic accidents and crime

Updated: Oct 14, 2022

Tabuk City, Kalinga – More law enforcers have been deployed in Tabuk City for stricter implementation of traffic rules and regulations in a bid to control road accidents which saw an increase in cases this year.

This followed the launching of ‘Oplan Revital’ by the Kalinga police on June 20, 2022.

Said program sought to increase police visibility as deterrence for traffic violators and law breakers.

The program was first introduced in the province in 2020, but was put on hold due to the pandemic.

Police Major Garry Gayamos told Guru Press Cordillera that the additional police force will help law enforcers currently in the field to better handle the implementation of traffic rules and regulations and crime prevention.

He explained that among the factors in the occurrence of criminal activities include intent and opportunity, saying that the latter is being denied to criminals when police are on the ground.

“Uray nu adda iti intention na nga agaramid, adda iti usaren na ngem nu awan iti gundaway, haan na matuloy iti krimen. So that is very one element nga isu iti i-deny tayo kanyada,” he said.
