‘Most cases of missing people in Baguio City involve family issues’ - BCPO

Baguio City, Philippines – Eighteen individuals have been reported missing in Baguio City in the past seven months.

The most common reason why they go missing is because they want to run away from issues at home, according to police.

The Baguio City Police Office, represented by its Acting Public Information Officer Harriet Bulcio, reported during a media forum on Tuesday, July 23, that 18 individuals were reported missing in the city from January to July this year.

Fortunately, said individuals are already reunited with their families and relatives, Bulcio noted.

Behind these cases, Bulcio revealed that most of them have decided to walk out of their houses and seek refuge with their friends and partners after misunderstandings with their families.

With this, Bulcio appealed to the public, particularly parents, to improve and strengthen their relationship and interaction with their children to prevent them from running away from home.

On their part, the BCPO assured that they are doing everything in their power to immediately investigate and resolve missing person cases.
