Mother and baby in Tabuk City die after vehicle crashed into house

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A mother and a child died after a vehicle crashed into a house at the intersection of Kalinga-Isabela National Road and Barangay Bulo Road, Agbannawag, Tabuk City on Saturday afternoon, May 28, 2022.


The mother was identified as a certain Claire Daluping, 39 years old, while the six-month-old baby was identified as Kawih Daluping. Both are residents of Sitio Dananao, Barangay Lacnog East.


In a report by Tabuk City Police Station, a passenger of the involved Montero vehicle driven by a certain Edwin Ortiz told them that they came from Isabela and was heading to Bulanao when the incident happened.


Accordingly, while approaching the place of incident, the driver of the Montero attempted to overtake a vehicle in front of them but the said vehicle made a left turn towards Barangay Bulo.

With the speed of the Montero vehicle trying to overtake, it ran towards a store at the side of the road, crashing the victims sitting on the porch before crashing further into the house.


The mother died on the spot while the baby who was brought to San Juan General Hospital was declared dead on arrival by attending physician.


Meantime, two other victims of the vehicular accident, identified as Kristell Gasatan and Beverly Dacumos, were rushed to Kalinga Provincial Hospital after sustaining injuries in different parts of their bodies.


Further investigation is still ongoing.
