Motocaravan and heritage discovery event culminates in Tabuk City

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Eighty-three riders tapped by the Department of Tourism Cordillera as local tourism ambassadors completed this year’s Tourism Motocaravan and Heritage Discovery arriving at the Capitol gym, Bulanao, Tabuk City early evening of Tuesday, June 21, 2022.


The riders came from various parts of the Cordillera, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon Calabarzon and the National Capital Region.

The tourism ambassadors started their 224 km motocaravan journey in the home of one of the Eight Wonders of the World passing over Mt. Province roads.


The agency said the event is one among several activities planned by DOT-CAR this year in a bid to rebuild public confidence on domestic travel.


The caravan aims to aid the tourism industry in the region to bounce back from the negative impacts of COVID-19 pandemic, featuring Cordilleran nature, adventure, culture and heritage sites.

Present during the culminating activity are DOT-CAR Regional Director Jovi Ganongan, Kalinga Board Member Lester Lee Tarnate – Committee Chairman on Tourism, Agriculture and Cooperative and staff of the Provincial Tourism Office headed by Provincial Tourism Officer Lorraine Ngao-i.


As for other activities of the agency in the province, Provincial Tourism Information Officer I Christalyne Balicao informed that the production team of DOT-CAR will be visiting various tourist destinations for the “Find Yourself in the Cordilleras” travel ad this week.


The team will be taking videos and photos demonstrating new and unique tourism experiences in Kalinga.

A cook out activity in which a traveling chef and a local chef in Kalinga will work together in preparing Kalinga dishes will also be held at the TRAAK ranch.


The cook-out activity is a program by the tourism agency in their pursuit to establish a culinary heritage tour circuit in the region.
