Tabuk City, Kalinga – A 49-year-old woman in Tabuk City was declared dead on arrival at the hospital following a tragic motorcycle-bus collision along the national road in Lacnog on Sunday evening, Nov. 12, 2023.

The casualty who was identified as a certain Joy Alos of Dananao Lacnog was riding a motorcycle with her husband, Daniel (the driver), 46 years old, a preacher, and two minor children when their vehicle got involved in a road crash around 6:40 p.m.

Based on the report of the police as narrated by the bus driver, Diosdado Valdez of Quezon City to the police, they were bound for Quezon City. While traversing the road at Dananao, Lacnog, he tried to overtake the motorcycle ferrying the woman.

The smaller vehicle, however, allegedly turned left which unfortunately resulted in the bus crashing against it as the driver did not have enough time to step on the brakes.

The motorcycle was hit and its occupants were thrown to the ground.

Joy sustained fatal injuries, rushed to the hospital, but was sadly declared dead on arrival while her husband was admitted for medical treatment.

Their two kids, meantime, are in stable condition after sustaining minor injuries.

It was said that Joy's sibling also died in a road accident last year.
