Motorcycle rider in Isabela dies after crashing against metal barrier along Gamu-Roxas Road

Gamu, Isabela – A motorcycle rider died in a road accident after crashing against a metal barrier along Gamu-Roxas Road in Brgy. District II, Gamu, Isabela on July 15, 2022.


The victim was identified by the police as Rafael Merlyn, 47, a resident of Alibadabad San Mariano, Isabela.


Investigation disclosed that the victim was driving along Gamu-Roxas Rd. when the incident took place.


The rider was said to have not been able to evade a metal barrier placed on the side of the road while riding his motorcycle.



The impact resulted in severe head injuries.



Disaster Action Rescue Team 831 immediately responded to a call regarding the accident and rushed the victim to the Isabela Provincial Hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.


The total property damage incurred from the accident is yet to be ascertained as investigation continues.
