Motorcycle rider in Tabuk City carrying illegal firearm arrested

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A rider in Tabuk City carrying an illegal firearm was arrested at the rotary marker in Purok 1, Bulanao at midnight this August 1, 2022.


The Tabuk City police said they received a text message about a man riding a black Mio motorcycle with a gun on his waist.


He was said to have been spotted in front of the gasoline station in Purok 1, Bulanao.


Police proceeded to the area where they saw the said rider wearing a gray jacket and a black helmet. They immediately approached him when they noticed the firearm on his waist.

When the rider failed to show pertinent documents to possess a gun, authorities arrested him and recovered the firearm described to be a cal. 45 Armscor loaded with 7 live ammunitions. The gun had a defaced serial number.


The suspect identified by the police as Jocel Sacayle, 37, resident of Mapaco Pinukpuk was brought to the Tabuk City Police Station.


A case for violation of Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act is expected to be filed against him.
