Ms. Abra is Binibining Pilipinas – International, Best in Evening gown and Swimsuit

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The first Miss Abra titleholder who was sent to compete in the Binibining Pilipinas 2024 pageant is the new Miss International-Philippines.

Myrna Esguerra bested other 39 equally beautiful candidates during the coronation night held at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City on Sunday night, July 7, 2024.

The beauties first battled in the swimwear competition, where they flaunted their toned physique. Esguerra shone the brightest in the segment letting her bag the ‘Best in Swimsuit’ award.

In the next segment, the beauties strut on the runway in their fabulous evening gowns. This segment was dominated anew by the Abrenian beauty and was announced the winner of the Evening Gown competition.

In the announcement of the top 15, Esguerra was called. Aside from her, another Cordilleran beauty queen – Marikit Manaois of Baguio City also made it to the list of the top 15.

Later in the Question and Answer portion, Esguerra was asked by Margie Moran – "If a time machine brings you back to 1964, 60 years ago when Binibining Pilipinas began, what message would you tell the Filipino women of that time about the women of 2024?”

Esguerra replied, “I will tell the women of the past that we have achieved our goal, which is to empower women. Standing here at the age of 17, I started to finance for my own studies and help my family financially”.

“I was able to do this by all those women who paved the way to empower us, to always reach for our goals no matter what. It is because in life, we can always achieve our dreams as long as we believe that we can and thanks to them all,” she added.

Nailing the Q and A portion and having displayed her confidence and charm throughout the competition, she was able to snatch the most coveted Binibining-Pilipinas International crown.

Esguerra will be representing the Philippines in the Miss International pageant next year. The host country is yet to be announced since the Miss International 2024 edition has not transpired as of this writing.
