San Mateo, Isabela - A woman's body wrapped in a blanket was discovered floating in an irrigation canal in Barangay Salinungan West, San Mateo, Isabela, this Tuesday, March 11.

The victim, initially identified as Maehyezine Get-ang Concepcion, a resident of Ifugao, was reportedly missing on February 20 this year, before her lifeless body was found today.

Information from the Ifugao Helping Hands Incorporated described that the victim’s body was not only wrapped in a blanket but also had her hands tied, implying a possible brutal murder.

“With the permission of the immediate family and with our deepest sorrow, we inform everyone that Maehyezine Get-ang Concepcion has been found lifeless in an irrigation. Her hand was tied, and the circumstances suggest she may have been murdered helplessly,” the organization wrote in a Facebook post.

“At this time, this is the only information we can provide as we respect the family’s privacy and the authorities handling the case. We trust that the police will conduct a thorough investigation to bring justice to Maehyezine,” they added.

As of this writing, in-depth investigations are now being conducted by the authorities to identify those responsible for the crime and ensure justice for the victim's death.
