Natonin, Mt. Province - Residents in Natonin, Mt. Province now have additional dedicated space for physical activities, cultural events, and other kinds of gatherings with the recent completion of an open gymnasium in town.

Located at Saliok Elementary School, the gym was inaugurated and turned over to the municipality by the provincial government on April 14, 2025. The inauguration ceremony was led by Governor Bonifacio “ Boni” Lacwasan Jr., along with Vice Governor Francis Tauli and the province’s board members, among other officials.

The gymnasium, constructed in two phases with a total budget of P7.5 million, stands as a testament to the teamwork of the PLGU and the Saliok community, including its barangay officials, the school faculty, and the locals.

Funded entirely by the PLGU, the facility was built to accommodate a range of community events, including cultural festivals, disaster preparedness workshops, sports events, and a venue for distributions of government aid, and more.

In his speech during said event, Lacwasan emphasized the importance of such infrastructure in enhancing community life, a place where the residents shall strengthen their bond.

According to him, the construction of the gym was made possible through the harmonious working relationships among the provincial officials, which also led to higher productivity in delivering projects and government services to the people.

“Under our leadership, we have accomplished a lot, but we still have more dreams to achieve for the betterment of our place,” the governor added, as quoted by the PLGU in its Facebook post.
