Negosyo Center opens in Tinglayan, Kalinga

Tinglayan, Kalinga – The Negosyo Center in Tinglayan is now open and ready to provide services to the entrepreneurs in the municipality, particularly micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).


The office was formally opened on Tuesday, October 11. The said Negosyo Center is the 7th of its like in the province.


The ceremonial opening of the center in Tinglayan was spearheaded by DTI Provincial Director Renie Ramos, Department of Science Technology Officer-in-Charge Dexy Catacutan, and Vice Mayor Rogelio Tambalong.

Also present during the activity are Josephine Daliyong of DTI-Kalinga, Business Counselor Rita Wilta, Sangguniang Bayan members Brendon Gonnay and Johnny Tiwang, Agricultural Technologist Hubert Patang-i, Tourism Officer II Johnny Tiggangay and PCPT Luis Bulao Jr, chief of police of Tinglayan municipal police station.


With the office, it is expected that there shall be ease of doing business and closer access to services for MSMEs through business registration assistance, business advisory services, business information and advocacy, and monitoring and evaluation.


Republic Act 10644 or the Go Negosyo Act ‘mandates the creation of Negosyo Centers in every municipality, city, and province throughout the country to help grow the MSME sector which accounts for around 99 percent of registered businesses in the country.’

As recalled, DTI-Kalinga established its first Negosyo Center in 2015 at its provincial office in 2015, the second at Tabuk City Hall, third in Rizal, fourth in Balbalan, fifth in Pinukpuk and sixth in Lubuagan.


Awarding of Livelihood Kits


Alongside the launching of the Negosyo Center in Tinglayan is the awarding by the Department of Trade and Industry Kalinga of the P240,000 worth of livelihood kits to 30 MSMEs in the municipality. This is made possible through the agency’s Livelihood Seeding Program.
