New activities expected for Tanudan Day celebration in June

Tanudan, Kalinga – New activities are expected to be enjoyed by the yTanudans in the upcoming observance of the 60th Tanudan Founding Anniversary and 9th Kape Festival.

The celebration is slated from June 23 – 25, 2023.

Tanudan Designate Information Officer John Ryan Awingan revealed that apart from cultural performances, coffee cooking competition, Search for Miss Tanudan, singing and dancing contests, and other activities, the people should also watch out for the Mayor’s Cup for basketball and volleyball which is a new addition to the set of activities prepared for the festival.

He said that the Tanudan Local Government Unit decided to include sports in this year’s celebration in order to also provide an avenue for sports lovers to display their skills.

The LGU together with the barangay officials, Department of Education, and the Philippine National Police convened on May 11 to craft a plan and guidelines and to discuss the flow of the program next month.

Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag appreciated the early planning initiated by the members of the committees for the Tanudan Day, saying the LGU, barangay, and its partner agencies want to give more activities for the constituents and visitors to participate in.

Dagadag encourages everyone to mark their calendar and celebrate with the yTanudans on June 23rd to 25th, “welcome kayo amin nga bisita nga mapan mang-witness daytoy naisaganaan nga aldaw ti taga Tanudan ta adu dagiti mabuya ken barbaru nga events and programs nga para kanya yu.”
