‘No more reason for residents to support the left’ - Lubuagan Mayor Dickpus

Updated: Jun 25, 2021

Lubuagan, Kalinga― Mayor Charisma Anne Dickpus, during the End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) Serbisyo Caravan in Lubuagan on June 22, explained to the residents of Western Uma that they have no more reason to support left-leaning organizations and groups since the government is bringing all projects and programs to address their concerns and problems to their doorsteps.

Dickpus exemplified the delivery of National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) projects and programs that various national agencies and offices of local government units are providing them.

The Serbisyo Caravan was joined in by the forces of the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Army along with employees of national line agencies, the departments of the Lubuagan LGU and Kalinga State University.

The caravan aims for the active participation of the government agencies to address insurgency by providing basic services and social packages to residents of the barangay.

“Ha meaning chi caravan, a group of people, man-os-ossaan cha looy un ahensiyan chi gobyerno un umoy mangtod si serbisyo kanchakayo. So maila yu chakami un ummali, kadwa mi cha alla un uchom un agencies chi government,” she narrated.

[Ti meaning na daytoy nga caravan ket nagmaymaysa dagitoy ahensiya ti gobyerno. Diay ti meaning na ti caravan - group of people nga umay mangited ti serbisyo kadakayo. So makita yu dakami nga adda ditoy ken dagiti dadduma pay nga agencies ti government.]

Dickpus admitted that insurgency has been a serious challenge to the government due to military abuses and atrocities that happened a long time ago.

However, Dickpus said that gone were the days, urging the community to take advantage of the program seeking to stop insurgency towards progressive development for peace.

“Lagasat taku pay a. Maila yu, lu umali cha kancha looy un barangay yu ked makwa yu un tukulon chicha. Awed ked ipakawachi yu, “niya cha army, intaku ayagen chicha ta tumuyong cha si kawachi taku.” Karkaru ta achu cha army kancha pulis un langasawa otla. Isu nga dapat lang un chitako man-protect kan chicha. Ibuun taku cha aalak taku un man-iskwila ta man-army kancha man-pulis cha,”she expressed.

[Nagasat tayo pay a. Ta makita yu nga nu umay da kadagiti barangay ket maaramid yu nga baunen isuda. Karkaru pay ta adda dagiti army ken pupulis nga naki-asawa ditoy. Isu nga dapat lang nga datayo ti mang-protect kanyada. Ibaun tayo pay dagiti annak tayo nga mapan agiskwela ta kayat tayo nga ag-army da wenno ag-pulis da.]

The advice of the Mayor to the residents of Western Uma is to have careful planning and agreement in their barangay to request for high Impact Projects for all that would certainly be beneficial not only to a single person but for sustainable livelihood programs for all.

“Sala un timpo ked iyim-implement chi gobyerno chi distancing ngem niya un programan chi ELCAC, lappun distancing la. Ha pi-o la un kalan, ichalun cha serbisyo. Chipun un pataggaan cha chi services.,” Dickpus said.

[Itatta nga tiempo ket iyimplement ti gobyerno iti social distancing nan gem daytoy nga ELCAC program ket awan ti distancing na, kayat na a saowen, umay da idanun dagiti services. Saan na nga lappedan nga (umay) ti (government) services.]
