‘No sign of rape on naked cadaver found in city garage’-Baguio police

Baguio City, Benguet – An autopsy found no sign of rape on the body of a woman found naked in a garage in Baguio City on August 30, police said.

The female cadaver was discovered in a home garage owned by Rodrigo Magsino Jr. in Barangay Alfonso Tabora, Trancoville at around 6:45 AM on Tuesday, August 30.

With the victim’s tattoo on her left shoulder, she was identified by her twin sister as Juliet Hesim, 22, from Balibago, Angeles, Pampanga.

When found, her pants and underwear were missing. She was wearing a white crop top dress with a black bra pulled up, and her hands and mouth tied with duct tape. A belt was also tied around her neck.

Police earlier hinted that Hesim was maltreated before she was killed and dumped in the garage.

However, the doctors who conducted an autopsy on the victim’s remains revealed they did not find any wounds on the private part of the victim. The autopsy report states the victim’s cause of death is asphyxia by strangulation.

Baguio City Police Station 2 Chief, Police Major Manuel Canipas Jr., in his interview with a local radio, said the doctors’ report leaves them uncertain as to whether or not she was raped before she was slain.

Canipas added they are waiting for the swab test of the cadaver to discern whether there was penetration that occurred.

Police investigation is still underway to determine the identity of the culprits and the circumstances of the incident.

Police said it is an ‘isolated case’

Meantime, in a statement, Baguio City police said they are considering the incident as an ‘isolated case as there had been no similar cases reported in the region.’

Nevertheless, the authorities are urging the public to continue to be vigilant and mindful of their safety while those have information on the incident are told to come forward and cooperate with investigators for the immediate resolution of the case.
