No yKalinga OFW harmed in ongoing Israel - Hamas conflict - OWWA Kalinga

Tabuk City, Kalinga – No yKalinga Overseas Filipino Workers has been reported harmed so far in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, according to Overseas Workers Welfare Administration – Kalinga.


More than 1,200 people have been reported dead in Israel after a surprise large scale assault from the Palestinian militant group Hamas on Saturday, Oct. 07, 2023.

Israel who declared war against Hamas after the air, sea, and land attack retaliated with airstrikes on Gaza which left at least 900 people killed.


Militants who have taken a hundred of hostages from Israel threatened to kill them should airstrikes hit Gaza without a warning.


With the ongoing conflict, the Department of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday, Oct. 11 that 2 Filipinos in Israel died of the attacks.


The possibility of a third Filipino casualty is being confirmed by the Philippine Embassy in Israel through DNA testing.


As for the yKalinga workers who are in said country, no one was reported in danger as of this writing, according to Family Welfare Officer Rhea Alos. She added that they are being closely monitored by the government.
