Tabuk City, Kalinga – Waiting for ‘waras’ or ‘ayuda’ has become the humor among the people this election period, though they say it in jest, there might be truth in it.

With less than three weeks before the May 2025 polls, Attorney Errol Comafay who is running for Tabuk City councilor reminded the public of the consequences of electing candidates who spend much and give money to voters this campaign season.

“Ti kandidato nga mangabak babaen iti kwarta ken panaggatang ti butos; nu agtugaw tu ket saan na ipateg dagiti tattao. Ti ibalor na ket kwarta ta isu nangpatugaw kanya na,” he said.

Comafay added that if this kind of politicians win, they will more likely to corrupt and only think of saving up for the next elections, saying, “saan tayo namnamaen nga agsirbi isuna iti tattao. Ti ubraen nan tu ket agpabaknang tapno addan tu manen kwarta na nga igatang na butos.”

On the other hand, the lawyer and councilor-aspirant further asserted that those political candidates who get elected through the support and faith of the public without having to buy votes will more likely to uphold their oath of serving the constituents of Tabuk City and the country.

“Ti kandidato nga mangabak babaen iti ayat ken suporta ti botantes ket ibalor na ti tattao. Nu agtugaw tu ket agsirbi nga pudpudno gapu ta utang na kadagiti tattao ti panagtugaw na,” Comafay expressed.

With a few more days left before the elections, Comafay hopes that the people in Tabuk City shall not be swayed by black propaganda and money but rather use their conscience and intellect to choose their next leaders.
