Dead woman found in Tublay, Benguet identified

Updated: Mar 27, 2023

Tublay, Benguet – A 74-year-old woman who fell off a cliff near her home was found dead at least four days after the incident, according to Tublay Police Deputy Head.

Her remains were recovered in a 60-meter-deep ravine which is around 700 meters away from the highway on March 18 in Barangay Digwe, Central Tublay.

PCapt. Marlon Papco-o, in his interview with Bombo Radyo Baguio the following day, identified the victim as Corazon Eno, a widow and a resident of said barangay.

According to their investigation, Papco-o relayed that the woman’s slippers were found torn at the place of the incident. This led to the conclusion that she might have slipped, causing her to fall off the cliff near her house.

Authorities believed that the incident might have happened four days prior to the discovery of her body on Saturday, based on its decomposing state.

The victim’s relatives returned home and agreed to immediately bury the elderly.

Meantime, the police in La Trinidad, Benguet are continuously verifying the identity of the man who fell into a ravine in KM.3 on March 16. His remains remain unclaimed at Bahay Damayan, Marcos Highway as of March 21.
