Olympian Hergie Bacyadan to be given hero's welcome in Kalinga on Sept. 9

Tabuk City, Kalinga -The Province of Kalinga is set to welcome home its first-ever Kalinga Olympian on Monday, September 9, 2024.

On September 4, the Kalinga Provincial Local Government Unit together with the national line agencies and the media convened to discuss the 'Hero's Welcome' for iKalinga boxer Hergie Bacyadan.

Bacyadan, who is from Taloctoc, Tanudan, is one of the Philippine delegates in the recently-concluded 2024 Paris Olympics.

Among the activities for the Hero's Welcome include a motorcade in Bulanao where the iKalingas will get the chance to see Bacyadan in person. Assembly for the motorcade is between 7:30-7:45 a.m and will begin at 8:00 a.m at the McDonald's.

The route will cover McDonald's - Baker's Percent - St. William's Academy - White Carabao - Montessori School - Bulanao Central School - Rotary marker. Then the motorcade will go to the other lane from the Rotary Marker to White Carabao - St. Tonis College Inc. - Block 3 - Bulanao Southern School - Kalinga Provincial Hospital - McDonald's.

After the motorcade, Bacyadan will proceed to the Kalinga Astrodome for the formal program.
