Tabuk City, Kalinga – Jean Claude Saclag safely returned home after his supposed third ONE Championship fight was cancelled due to the powerful earthquake in Myanmar that also shook Thailand on March 28, 2025, killing over 2,000 people as of April 1 records.

On Friday afternoon, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit northwest of Sagaing in Myanmar, which was immediately followed by a 6.4-magnitude aftershock. This violent shake was felt by Myanmar’s neighboring country, Thailand, which resulted in the collapse of a skyscraper under construction, burying tens of workers.

Due to the widespread effects of the quake, ONE cancelled all the matches scheduled at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok on Friday night, including Saclag’s fight.

The iKalinga fighter was supposed to face Shazada Ataev of Turkmenistan, a 5-time ONE Championship winner.

Fortunately, Saclag and Team Lakay Coach Mark Sangiao were marked safe from the tremor. The two flew back to the Philippines on Sunday, March 30.

There was no date yet for Saclag’s return to the ring in Bangkok.
