‘One Kalinga Blood’ group to conduct bloodletting for adequate blood supply

Tabuk City, Kalinga – To ensure continuous and free blood supply to Kalinga patients, One Kalinga Blood (OKB) organization is set to conduct a bloodletting activity on September 3, 2022.

Said event will be held at the Kalinga Provincial Astrodome from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

In an interview with Nakingngak Bangloy, one of the members of OKB, he said that the event was initiated to continuously help those in need of blood. He added that they wanted to provide free blood supply, especially in emergency cases such as those patients involved in vehicular accidents, unplanned operations, chemotherapy patients, and others.

Bangloy further explained that OKB, which is composed of young professionals in the province, wants to make it easy for the ykalingas to obtain readily available blood.

With this, Bangloy appeals and encourages qualified blood donors to take part in the event and support the cause of giving yKalinga patients access to available blood supply.

“Let us support this cause my fellow ykalinga. Let us be united so that in time of emergency meron tayong matatakbuhan at siguradong makukuhanan ng dugo na kailangan. This OKB is different from other organizations madali kaming kausap, madali kaming lapitan. Basta meron, binibigay namin ng libre at walang bayad,” he expressed.

As recalled, said organization conducted the same activity last April 30, and they collected 210 bags of blood which helped 61 patients in the province.

How to request free blood on OKB

To the people who are in need of blood, Bangloy relayed that the public can message the OKB social media account ONE Kalinga BLOOD | Facebook.

They may also approach the Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH) laboratory so the latter will be the one to directly contact OKB group. The group will give the required blood for free upon receiving the request.
