Opportunity to graduates: TESDA-Kalinga offers P1.274M worth of training and certification programs

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Ikalinga youth, particularly senior high school graduates from the Technical-Vocational Livelihood track, will soon benefit from P1.274 million training and certification programs of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority - Kalinga.

TESDA- Kalinga Acting Provincial Director Proserphina Pacyado announced this during the province’s Kapehan forum on Monday, November 4, which she described to be a support designed to enhance skills development and employment opportunities for the graduates.

Of the total funds, P520,000 will be allotted to its teachers and assessors so that the training quality remains at a good level and within the ‘industry-set standard’.

According to Pacyado, the funding can help iKalinga youth attain national certificates, which are one of those main credentials to enhance employability for today's market.

The agency will also partner with the Department of Education and local government officials in Tabuk City to set up the programs. This collaboration ensures that the programs will be based on the needs of the students and according to industry requirements.

Once programs are set, there will be a pre-assessment phase that will determine the skills of the students and prepare them for certification.

By equipping its learners with marketable skills, TESDA Kalinga believes that iKalinga youth’s transition from education to employment can be made easier.
