Over 2,000 Apayao residents benefit from SWAD's P9.8M cash for work


Luna, Apayao - A total of 2,465 individuals in the province benefited from the P9.8 million cash-for-work program of the Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Office Apayao.


This program intends to aid families and individuals with their basic needs and other expenses by providing them with short-term jobs.


Of the 2,465 individuals, 1,065 are from the Municipality of Luna; 928 are from Pudtol; and 413 from the town of Conner, as shown in SWAD’s data.

These individuals, as mentioned by the Apayao Public Information Office, are beneficiaries of the Risk Resiliency Program on Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation and Disaster Risk Reduction (RRP-CCAM-DRR) through the cash-for-work modality.


Under the said program, the beneficiaries entered into a ten-day employment agreement, receiving a daily wage of P400.


They were engaged in specific jobs and projects and received their salary from Oct. 17 - 20, 2023.


Among the tasks given to the recipients include planting trees and sowing drought-resistant seeds within communal gardens throughout the province.
