Over P.1M cash rewards await Apayao’s first Cycling Challenge 2023 winners



Apayao, Philippines – Exciting prizes await the winners of the first Apayao Cycling Challenge 2023.


The inaugural event aimed at boosting fitness while promoting a sustainable tourism system was initially slated for Sept. 16 but was earlier moved to Oct. 7, 2023, by the Provincial Tourism Services Office.


A fantastic range of challenges will be offered to all amateur and pro riders from all over the Philippines and all foreign nationals.

Dubbed as “Ride to Marag Valley: A Paradise Regained,” the 30. 54-kilometer fun race requires riders to be in excellent physical condition as “their health and welfare are of paramount importance,” according to the tourism office.


Cyclists will start their two-wheeled adventure at Apayao Tourism and Sports Complex and will finish at the Covered Court of Cagandungan.


A registration fee of P500 should be paid by interested participants and should register through this link, https://forms.gle/uBhirHqRnkBsFVAZ9. The fees may be paid through payment centers or visit the tourism office in San Isidro Sur, Luna, Apayao.

Categories and Prizes


Provincial Tourism Officer Rebecca Mamba disclosed top three winners for the age categories 20-29, 30-39, 40-60, and 18-60 (women division) will receive P8,000, P6,000, and P5,000, respectively.

In a separate category for professionals under the 18-60 age bracket, the champion will receive P10,000, P8,000 for the second placer, and P5,000 for the third.


Top winners in the 10-19 age category will get P7,000, P5,000, and P4,000, respectively.


Special Awards


Cyclists who will be hailed as Youngest Completer, Eldest Completer, Best in Nature Photography, Best Wacky Photo, Best Group Photo, Early Bird, King of the Mountain, and Queen of the Mountain will be given P1,000 cash reward each.


Personnel from the concerned offices will be on standby to ensure the safety of the enthusiasts.
