Tabuk City, Kalinga – Health care services in Kalinga is expected to improve further with the Department of Health—Center for Health Development Cordillera providing over P300,000 worth of laptops to various medical facilities in the province.
As reported by the Kalinga Information Office, there are a total of seven laptops with a set of charger, bag, and mouse distributed by the agency to the beneficiaries on March 19, valued at P335,300.00.
The recipients include the Kalinga Provincial Hospital, Juan M. Duyan Memorial District Hospital, Western Kalinga District Hospital, Kalinga-Gabriela Mija Kim Medical Center, Pinukpuk District Hospital, Kalinga District Hospital, and Tanudan Municipal Hospital; each received an Acer Travelmate P216 laptop.
Prior to the given units, a deed of donation was signed between Dr. Ferdinand Benbeben, Director IV of DOH-CHD-CAR, and the Provincial Local Government Unit of Kalinga, headed by Governor James Edduba.
The signing formalizes the collaboration between the agency and the PLGU in enhancing health care services in the province for the well-being of the iKalingas.
The initiative, according to the Kalinga PIO, aligns with the mandates of Republic Act 11223 and Republic Act 11332, which emphasize the importance of real-time disease surveillance and response systems.
Governor James Edduba, in his interview with the Guru Press Cordillera this March 20, expressed gratitude to the agency for providing the laptops while emphasizing that such modern technology is an essential tool for delivering effective and prompt medical care.
“In this age where real-time data and quick responses are crucial in managing public health, such a latest technological tool is essential for improving the quality of care and keeping our communities safe,” he added.
