Over P1M high tech gadgets stolen from computer store in Tuguegarao

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – A computer superstore in Tuguegarao was burglarized early morning on Thursday, October 23, by still unidentified men.

A million worth of gadgets and P76,516 in cash were discovered missing from Octagon Computer Superstore when the establishment opened around 7 a.m. on said date.

It was the security who first discovered that the padlock on the roll-up door was damaged, prompting them to notify the police.

Among the items stolen were 15 units of iPhone, 48 Android phones, and some iPads. When added to the cash robbed, the store lost a total of P1,081,675 to said thieves.

CCTV footage showed one of the thieves entering the store while two of them served as lookouts near the establishment.

Police added that the burglar who broke into the store was wearing a hat, black pants, a black jacket with 'security' markings, and black gloves.

After committing the said crime, the thieves fled the scene in a getaway vehicle, a red SUV, and headed to Buntun.

Before the incident, the Cagayan Provincial Information Office reported a witness claimed he saw the three burglars walking along Balzain Highway.

In the investigation, it was known that the group’s modus operandi was the same as how a jewelry shop was robbed in Appari.

Police hinted that they might be the same group since their getaway vehicle matched the vehicle that was also utilized in the said crime.

As part of the in-depth investigation, police are now coordinating with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and Highway Patrol Group (HPG) for possible identification of the vehicle used.
