Updated: Jun 9

Sabangan, Mt. Province - Further developments in Sabangan, Mt. Province are expected as several infrastructure projects in the municipality were completed and were inaugurated last week.

The projects, which are implemented in different barangays in the municipality, include the construction of pathways, roads and river controls, improvement of one multi-purpose hall, improvement of other provincial roads, and the construction of an open gymnasium.

These infra-projects were funded with over P20 million by the Mt. Province PLGU through a loan from the Land Bank of the Philippines.

Following their completion, inauguration ceremonies took place on June 5, 2024. The events were led by Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan, Jr. and Vice Governor Francis Tauli, along with other provincial and municipal officials.

Lacwasan, in a social media post, mentioned that another project in the municipality, particularly the improvement of a road in Barangay Gayang, will soon start its construction.

The road project aims to provide residents with convenient means to transport their agricultural products. It was funded with P5 million by the PLGU.

“The continuous improvements of the roads within the place will allow the farmers to efficiently transport their farm produce and will also enhance the commuting convenience of the residents,” Lacwasan wrote.

The project’s groundbreaking ceremony was held on the same day, signifying a vital step towards enhancing connectivity and economic growth in the area.
