Over P3.8M in wages distributed to 899 TUPAD beneficiaries in Kalinga

Tabuk City, Kalinga -  The Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program continues to benefit disadvantaged residents in Kalinga, with another batch of beneficiaries receiving their salaries during a ceremonial payout held at the Kalinga Sports Center on Thursday, November 14.

The TUPAD payout was initiated by the DOLE Kalinga Field Office, in collaboration with the Office of the President and the Public Employment Service Office, as part of temporary employment and economic relief services to disadvantaged workers in the province.

A total of 899 recipients from the municipalities of Rizal, Pinukpuk, and Tabuk City received P4,300 each for 10 days of community service, equivalent to P430 daily wage.

The TUPAD funds were allocated by the Office of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., with the objective of offering temporary job opportunities and supporting the reactivation of the recovery of local workers for financial stability.

In his speech during the event, Governor James Edduba expressed gratitude to the Office of the President for allocating the funds while reminding once again the recipients to use their money for its intended purposes only.

"Agyaman tayu ta napagasatan tayo nga maikkan iti temporary nga trabaho nga mabalin tayo nga pangalaan iti mausar tayo. Haan yo kuma usaren ti bisyo ken drugs daytuy sinahod yo, nu di ket usaren tayo para ti pamilya tayo ta daytoy nga program (TUPAD) ket tapnu rumag-ay ken lumin-awan ti panagbiag ken pamilya tayo," added the governor.
