Over P5M KALAHI-CIDSS Community Driven sub-projects completed in Tinglayan

Tinglayan, Kalinga – True to the municipality’s tagline ‘Tongrayan Umunnu-unnoy’, significant developments continue to prosper in Tinglayan with the continuous support of its people.


At present, 17 community sub-projects granted to the municipality through the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services National Community Driven Development Program Additional financing (KALAHI-CIDSS NCDDP AF) are already completed.

Said projects include construction of footpaths, motor paths, drainage canals, slope protection and installation of solar-powered street lights and water piping systems.


These projects benefitted all the 20 barangays of Tinglayan, according to the municipal information office.


Implementations of said projects started July this year and only three remaining projects out of 20 are underway.


As to its funding, more than P3.8 million was provided by the World Bank Agency through the Department of Social Welfare and Development, P1.6 million from the municipal local government unit and P400,000 from barangay local government units.


What is KALAHI-CIDSS?


According to DSWD, Kalahi-CIDSS is one of the poverty alleviation programs of the Philippine government being implemented by their office and utilizes the community-driven approach in the process.


Said approach, the agency said ‘assists communities in poor municipalities in identifying obstacles to eradicating poverty and assisting them in making well-informed choices regarding a variety of locally determined options for development, including how and in what form.’
