Over P6M Police Station in Lubuagan nears completion

Lubuagan, Kalinga ─ The construction of the two-storey Municipal Police Station (MPS) situated in Barangay Poblacion of this town is nearing completion to house its men in uniform.


After the proclamation of the Philippine Independence in 1946, the Lubuagan Municipal Police Station was created. On 13 September 1996, it was established and inaugurated beside the Lubuagan Eco-Tourism and Cultural Center, the same site where the new building is being completed.


The municipal government of Lubuagan donated the 220 square meter-lot as its counterpart for the construction of the more than PhP6 million worth MPS.


PCpt. Garry Gayamos, Lubuagan MPS Chief of Police (COP), relates that the request for the donation of the lot was thru the initiative of former COP Renato Miguel in 2018 which was later on granted in 2019.



“The grant of lot donation was thru the initiative of the former Chief of Police Renato Miguel in 2018 ken gapo iti support ti LGU, the PNP building cannot be constructed nu awan ti counterpart iti LGU nga mangi-donate ti lot,” he narrated.


Construction of the said standard type B/C building, a 2-storey building with a rooftop, begun on 18 May 2020 and targeted to be completed within this month.

Working in a new building


Gayamos emphasized that the new MPS will definitely inspire his fellow police personnel and boost their morale in extending assistance to the constituents.


“The new PNP building will inspire the PNP to work better as the new PNP building is conducive. With the complete equipment, it would be a very good indication kadagitoy kapulisan so that they will be inspired, ngumato ti morale da nga agtrabaho para kagiti kakailyan ken dadduma nga tattao,” he said.


Likewise, he committed to maintain, develop and protect the building for its sustainability not only for them but also for the future personnel to be assigned in the station.


Meantime, the inauguration of the new Lubuagan MPS is tentatively scheduled on 26 May.
