Overstaying Frenchman faces deportation after his arrest in Isabela

Isabela, Philippines – An undocumented French national will face deportation before the Bureau of Immigration following his arrest in Santiago City, Isabela.

After receiving the order for the foreigner’s deportation for violating the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940, the Regional Intelligence Operation Unit – 2 of the immigration bureau conducted two-day surveillance to confirm his identity and location.

Upon confirmation, operatives proceeded to apprehend the 51-year-old subject, Yassine Nouraddine Debah at Victory Norte in said city on Sept. 05, 2023.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco said Debah was found to be undocumented and overstaying due to his expired passport with no extension, a violation of the country’s immigration act.

The foreigner who was taken into custody of the BI will remain at the holding facility in Bicutan, Taguig where he awaits deportation proceedings.

Tansingco warned foreigners to adhere to immigration laws as they ‘will not tolerate overstaying aliens who disregard the legal requirements of their stay in our country.’

“We will continue to be vigilant and proactive in ensuring that immigration regulations are upheld,” he said.
