P.1M worth illegal lumber recovered in Taloctoc, Tanudan

Tanudan, Kalinga – Authorities have recovered more than a hundred thousand worth of illegally cut lumber in Taloctoc, Tanudan on Oct. 25, 2023.


Kalinga police reported that police authorities in Tanudan proceeded to Sitio Patakalig in Lower Talotoc on said date after receiving information about illegal lumber stockpiled at the riverbank.

The information turned out positive as the police recovered a total volume of 234 board feet of narra lumber in the area.


The illegally sawn wood is worth P117,000.


Confiscated lumber was brought to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Callagdao.


Last month, the Tanudan LGU headed by Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag together with the DENR and PNP seized 680 board feet Narra flitches in a forest at Sitio Guimma, Mabaca.


Further, on Aug. 23 this year, six men were arrested and charged for illegal logging violation in Mabaca.
