P1.4M shabu discovered in Aparri, Cagayan


Cagayan, Philippines – More than a million worth of suspected shabu were discovered by the operatives from a residence in Aparri, Cagayan on December 29, 2022.


Armed with a search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court in Aparri, the operatives went to the residential house of suspects Rolando Uri, 52, and Mila Malana, 50, to look for possible contraband around 5:00 a.m on Thursday.


The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 2 reported that the operation yielded 60 pieces of heat-sealed transparent sachets containing substance believed to be shabu. These were estimated to be 208 grams and worth P1,400,000.

The PDEA operatives and police further found a piece of plastic sachet with suspected dried marijuana worth P10,000.


There were also assorted drug paraphernalia and a piece of Cal. 38 revolver with two live ammunition found inside the house during the search.


With these suspected illegal drugs and contraband, Uri and Malana together with their companion identified as Michael Uri, 37, were arrested and were brought to Aparri Police Station.


Authorities said the suspects will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
