P1.5M lost to house fire in Tabuk City

Updated: Oct 13, 2022

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A residence in Purok 4, Bulanao Centro was devastated by fire Sunday afternoon, March 13, 2022, resulting in an estimated loss of P1.5 million worth of belongings.

The BFP–Tabuk City investigator, Senior Fire Officer 1 Allen David Apalla, narrated that they received the fire report at around 3:00 in the afternoon. Eight minutes later, when they arrived at the scene, the roof of the house was already burning.

While putting out the fire, they had to open a portion of the roof to ventilate the place, since the smoke was so thick. After the fire slightly subsided, the BFP personnel went into the house to make sure no one was trapped inside.

The fire was controlled around 3:35 PM, and the BFP declared the fire out around 3:57 PM.

No one was harmed among the occupants of the house, but the family dog who got stuck inside during the fire was no longer breathing when they found her.

Meanwhile, Apalla disclosed that a witness told them he saw a burning foam at the garage or their stock room. There is an old unfunctional car in the area where the fire started, but the investigators eliminated the possibility that the fire came from the vehicle since it is no longer working.

The BFP is looking into the possibility that the fire might have been caused by electrical wiring inside the house, which later managed to reach the said foam from the garage.
