Apayao, Philippines – The family of the slain Ilagan City Deputy Prosecutor Victor Begtang Jr. is offering P1 million reward to anyone who could identify the killers of the lawyer.

Begtang was shot by two assailants at his auto shop in Sitio Hanhan, Barangay Malama, Conner in the afternoon of June 23 while he was repairing his truck with his laborers.

Initial investigation of the police revealed that the victim saw the first gunman with his gun pointing at them, thus he alerted his laborers and they run in different directions. However, as he runs towards his house, he met another gunman.

He retreated to the direction where he came from but was cornered and was shot multiple times by the suspects.

The two assailants immediately left the crime scene on board their XRM motorcycle, according to witnesses. Begtang, on the other hand, was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, in a Facebook post this August 25, Justin Begtang called on individuals who knew any information about the two individuals who shot Begtang to report to the police or to contact 09676792887/ 09673020934/09278634851.

Justin said a reward of P1 million shall be given to anyone who could give information that could help in the case and in the identification of the two suspects.
