P2.4M marijuana bricks seized in Naneng, Tabuk City checkpoint

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Two men were arrested transporting a total of P2,040,000 suspected marijuana bricks at a checkpoint set up by operatives at Naneng, Tabuk City on Thursday, October 13, 2022.


The suspects were identified by the PNP Tabuk as Mark Yuzon, 21, a resident of Tondo, Manila, and Jess Bilas De Guzman, 49, a resident of Dimasalang, Manila.


Tabuk City Police Station relayed they received a call from 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company (KPMFC) personnel based at Dinacan, Lubuagan on the same date saying that there is a metallic Toyota Avanza vehicle suspected to be ferrying marijuana bricks evaded their checkpoint, thus the setting up of a checkpoint on the said place.

The operation resulted in the confiscation of 17 bricks dried marijuana leaves and stalks with an estimated value of P2,040,000. They likewise confiscated the vehicle bearing a plate number – CBL 1947 used by the suspects, a photocopy of Official Receipt/ Certificate of Registration, and a car key.


The inventory of the seized piece of evidence was conducted onsite in the presence of the Department of Justice (DOJ), barangay officials, and representatives from the media.


The suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Tabuk City Police Station for proper documentation and disposition.
