P25M improvement of Balicanao-Am-am Provincial Road in Bauko. Mt. Province begins

Bauko, Mt. Province -  Residents of Upper Bauko, Mt. Province, will soon experience faster and better transport of their agricultural products along with easier access to government services as the Balicanao-Am-am Provincial Road improvement project started following its groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, September 13.

 

The ceremony was led by Office of the Presidential Adviser for Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr., and Governor Bonifacio Lacwasan, Jr. They were joined by Vice Governor Francis Tauli, Sangguniang Panlalawigan members, Bauko Municipal Mayor Randolph Awisan, and Tadian Mayor Constito Masweng. 

 

As reported by Governor Lacwasan Jr. through his Facebook page, P25 million in funds were allocated by the Office of the President, OPAPRU under its PAMANA program, and the Provincial Government of Mt. Province for the realization of the project.

 

PAMANA or the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan is the national government’s convergence program that extends development interventions to isolated communities in the country, ensuring that they are not left behind.

 

Part of the road improvement includes resurfacing, widening, and installation of better drainage systems.

 

The Office of the President and the OPAPRU expects that the project will contribute to the growth of the economy of not just the province but of the whole country.

 

OPAPRU Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr. lauded the PLGU for finding ways to further improve the province’s infrastructure for the benefit of its residents.

 

Meanwhile, the provincial government and the Bauko LGU officials expressed their gratitude for the continued support of said national office to the province’s road projects.
