P3.4M worth marijuana stalks found abandoned in La Trinidad, Benguet

La Trinidad, Benguet - Two sacks of suspected marijuana stalks were found by the police in La Trinidad, Benguet, during their patrol on Friday, June 7, 2024.

 

In his interview with local media near the area, La Trinidad Municipal Police Station Chief Danson Macliing relayed that the marijuana stalks weighed 29 kilos and had an estimated street value of P3.4 million.

 

According to him, the police were patrolling along the Shilan- Lamut road in the evening on said day when they noticed the sacks at the side of the road.

 

At first, they thought these sacks were just garbage, but when they checked on them, they discovered the contraband inside.

 

The policemen immediately brought the illegal weed to the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station for documentation.

 

They were transferred later to the Police Regional Office Forensic Unit for proper disposition.

 

An investigation is now underway to identify the people who left them.
