‘P3.6M educational assistance disbursed on first day of aid distribution’-DSWD CAR

Baguio City, Philippines – Over P3.6 million worth of educational assistance was distributed in Cordillera as of 5:00 PM of Saturday, August 20, reported the regional Department of Social Welfare and Development.


The P959,000 of the total P3,637,000 assistance disbursed on the first day of distribution was provided to the 260 beneficiaries in Kalinga; P798,000 to the 180 recipients in Benguet; P741,000 to the 237 beneficiaries in Abra; and P433,000 to the 112 recipients in Ifugao.


Meanwhile, P364,000 was distributed to the 144 beneficiaries in the department’s field office in Baguio; P280,000 to the 99 recipients in Apayao; and P62,000 to the 20 beneficiaries in Mt. Province.

Said assistance of DSWD provides P1,000 cash aid for elementary students, P2,000 for high school students, P3,000 for senior high school students, and P4,000 for college students or vocational courses.


A total of P500 million is set to be distributed from August 20 to September 24, 2022.


How to avail of the educational assistance?

DSWD-Cordillera said that to avail of the educational grant, an applicant must first register online through the QR code which may be accessed through this link.


After the registration, applicants only need to wait for a text confirmation or call from the department as to the date and venue of the distribution of assistance. Required documents will also be included in the confirmation message.


For those who do not have smartphones or internet connection, they may proceed to the DSWD Field Office to apply.
