P30 wage increase in Cordillera takes effect Dec. 5


Baguio City, Philippines – Minimum wage earners in the Cordillera region will start receiving additional pay of P30 starting December 5.


This comes after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) filed a wage order indicating a P30 salary increase which was backed by the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC).


The wage order is set to be published on November 19 and shall take effect after 15 days.

The new minimum wage in the area following the aforementioned order is P430.


This shall apply to all minimum wage earners in the private sector within the region, regardless of their position, designation, or status, and irrespective of the method by which their wages are paid.


The current minimum wage in the region is P400, by virtue of Wage Order No. CAR-21 was issued by the RTWP Board—Cordillera and took effect on January 1.


As for household workers, an increase of P400 in their monthly salary was mandated through Wage Order No. RB-CAR-DW-05.


With this, they shall now receive p4,900 per month.


Aside from the Cordillera region, other regions benefiting from the pay hike are Bicol and the Eastern Visayas Region.
