P5M road improvement in Tinglayan completed with 4.9KM length and 7m width

Tinglayan, Kalinga – From a basic one-way road, a two-lane road is now serving residents of Sitio Man-ubal in Barangay Belong Man-ubal in Tinglayan.

While it is not yet paved, the widened and graveled road would benefit farmers in transporting their agricultural produce more conveniently. Traffic flow improved as it can already accommodate larger vehicles to pass through at the same time.

In an interview, Mayor Sacrament Gumilab disclosed that the fund utilized in the project is from the local government’s budget. The implementation of the project costs P5 million.

The road project started in May and was completed earlier this month.

It has a length of 4.9 kilometers and a width of 7 meters.

“This road is more than just a means of transport; it symbolizes progress and accessibility for our community,” Mayor Gumilab said in a statement.

Apart from the newly improved road, the improvement of the road going to Barangay Sumadel is also nearing completion – only 10 meters left.

In addition to these developments would be the P10 million worth of road project, which is the concreting of the previously opened road in Sitio Belong, also in Barangay Belong-Man-ubal.

To recall, the construction and improvement of roads in the municipality had been one of the focus of the mayor’s administration since 2016.

The pursuance of road projects, according to him, is essential to provide better delivery of government services to far-flung barangays in the municipality, boost the tourism industry, and also aid in the eradication of the marijuana trade in the municipality.
