P6M waterworks system granted to Lubo, Tanudan

Tanudan, Kalinga – Communities in Lubo, Tanudan will no longer have to worry about sources of safe drinking water after they were granted P6 million funding for the construction of three waterworks systems.

The Bureau of Treasury informed Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag on January 4, 2023, that his proposal for funding for the said project has been approved.

Tanudan designated Information Officer John Ryan Awingan relayed that the mayor reached out to the Department of Budget and Management since the Local Government Unit of Tanudan could not immediately fund the building of waterworks systems in the three barangays in Lubo due to limited Internal Revenue Allotment.

He added that the said project is an immediate need of the people of Lubo after their source of drinking water was destroyed during the flash flood last year which was triggered by heavy rains. Back then, the LGU had to ask for gallons of drinking water from the Provincial LGU.

The three waterworks systems will be placed in Babbanoy, Lower, and Upper Lubo. The construction is expected to begin next month.

Meanwhile, Mayor Dagadag is praying for the approval of other project proposals they submitted to the national government. He added that the officials of Tanudan LGU are tirelessly monitoring these projects, following them up in order to address the other needs of the constituents which the LGU’s IRA could not shoulder.
