P7.1M earthquake, typhoon-resistant PNP building erected in Tinglayan

Tinglayan, Kalinga - The newly erected municipal police station in Tinglayan is now ready for occupancy after its blessing and inauguration on Tuesday, November 21.

The three-story building was erected on a 140-square-meter lot donated by the local government unit of Tinglayan.

The Tinglayan Information Office said it is a standard-type “B/C” municipal police station building.

This amounts to P7,103,276.33, which was funded through the Philippine National Police Department of Public Works and Highways Convergence and Special Support Program.

On its durability, DPWH-Upper Kalinga Assistant District Engineer Ricky Dickly mentioned the inaugurated police station is an earthquake- and typhoon-resistant, state-of-the-art building.

Leading the inauguration is Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PROCOR) Chief BGen David K. Peredo Jr.

He was joined by Mayor Sacrament Gumilab, Regie Wacas, the representative of the province’s solon, and Governor James Edduba, represented by Johnny Maymaya.

In a statement, Peredo highlighted collaboration as the primary reason why the construction of the building was finally realized.

“Nu agmaymaysa tayu dakdakel ti pagbanaga na, dakdakkel ti impact na... serbisyong nagkakaisa,” he said while extending his gratitude to the LGU for donating the lot where the building now stands.

“I believe that with this newly constructed building, a deeper passion for the Tinglayan police force was greatly ignited to do more for the community and to serve the people with the utmost diligence,” he added.

As for the local chief executive of Tinglayan, he regarded the building’s erection as one of the locality’s achievements, giving emphasis that the building is an augmentation to the battle cry of the municipality, ‘Tongrayan Umunno-Unnoy’.
