Paralympian Agustina Bantiloc recognized by Baguio City government

Baguio City, Philippines – International athletes in Baguio City including Paralympian Agustina Bantiloc were recognized by the City Local Government Unit during its flag-raising ceremony on Monday, September 30.

Led by Mayor Benjamin Magalong, the city awarded certificates of recognition to Islay Erika Bomogao, the first Filipina Muaythai World Champion; Paris Olympics bronze medalists and University of Baguio alumnae Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas; and Para-archer Bantiloc, who hails from Tanudan, Kalinga, and represented the country in the 2024 Paralympics Games in Paris.

The Persons with Disability Affairs Office of Baguio City wrote that Bantiloc did not just become a beacon of inspiration to persons with disability but she also brought honor to Baguio City when she became the first Filipina para-archer to join the Paralympics.

In a Facebook post, Bantiloc who was also one of the flag bearers in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paralympics conveyed it was an honor to play for the Philippines and that she is going to train harder for the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.

“Isang malaking karangalan para sakin ang pagrepresenta sa Pilipinas bilang kauna-unahang para-archer sa Paralympics. Huhusayan ko pa ang pag-eensayo upang magkita-kita tayo sa LA2028!” she wrote.
